He had his schooling in Machilipatnam and Podili. He did his Inter and graduation in SRR & CVR Govt. College. He did his M.B.A from Andhra University - Visakhapatnam in 1982, and worked for Canara Bank for 4 years and resigned to start a Share Broking Consultancy in the year 1986. Later he shifted to Motilal Oswal Securities Ltd., a leading stock broking firm in the country in 2001 and is continuing for the same company. He has served Vijayawada Club as a management committee member for the period 2009 to 2012.
Married to Mrs. M. Mahati in 1986 and blessed with two children's Manoj and Spandana. M. Mahati is working for Indian Bank and Manoj did his B.Tech from BITS - Goa and currently working for BRAVO LUCY LTD., Spandana is doing her 3rd year B.Tech from P.V.P. Siddhartha Engineering College.
He joined Mid Town in year 2007 and served the club as Secretary for 2009-10 and as Vice President for 2010-11. He served the District 3020 as a TRF Co-ordinator for the period 2010-2012. He is a Major Donor and his wife and his son are Paul Harris Fellows. He motivated his brother Dr. V. Ravi Kumar Prasad an N.R.I to contribute $ 25,000 towards Permanent Endowment Fund to Rotary Foundation in 2010 - 11.
