Rotarian Durga Prasad is a practicing Chartered Accountant for the past 25 years. He did his schooling in Nirmala High School. After schooling he completed
intermediate and graduation in commerce from Siddhartha College. By the age of 22 he completed his Chartered Accountancy course which he did it in single attempt. His quest for academic excellence did not diminish even after completing CA course. He completed CISA course and presently is also a certified information systems auditor. He is also a lead auditor for ISO Certifications.
Rotarian Durga Prasad is a partner of M/s Suryanarayana Murthy & Co, a firm of chartered accountants with nearly 58 years of standing and one of the oldest in coastal Andhra Pradesh. He was signing partner of many large public and private sector companies. The firm also offers MIS services to public sector companies. Apart from audit he has also specialized Income tax and service tax matters.
Durga Prasad served as treasurer of the club in the year 2000-2001, as secretary in the year 2001-2002 and as vice president in the year 2002-2003. He won the best secretary award for that year. He was the district treasurer for the year 2011-12.
His desire to repay for the recognition he obtained as a Chartered Accountant made him to serve the CA institute as office bearer of the Vijayawada Branch of the CA Institute. As the chairman of the branch he took up many activities benefiting members and the students of the CA course. Acquiring 19000 sft of building and equipping it with the state of the art facilities at a cost of 6 crores within a span of 10 months was one of the highlights of his tenure. He served as member of Corporate laws committee at the southern regional level of the CA Institute. He is also a panel reviewer of Financial Review Reporting Board of theCA Institute which scrutinizes the financial statements of various listed companies.
His desire to understand the laws of nature took him to spiritual route and with the blessings of his gurus became a qualified master in SKY Philosophy and is eligible to grant guidance about meditation in kundalini yoga which is considered the ultimate yoga technique.
Rotarian Durga Prasad is son of Sri D.Suryanrayana Murthy who was well known Chartered Accountant and a Past President of Rotary Club of Vijayawada. His mother Smt Bala Sundari is an active Inner wheel member and was the Chairman of Distict 315. His better half savithri is also an active Inner wheel member and she is taking up the presidentship of Inner wheel club of Vijayawada Midtown for the year. Their only Son Kaushik completed his lOth standard and is on way to pursue CA course.
Durga Prasad loves traveling and has traveled to all corners of India. He also loves reading books both fiction and non fiction. He firm ly believes in Karma Siddantha
