G.V. Rama Rao was born at Gopuvanipalem, Pamidimukkala Mandal, Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh. He started his career as Railway Contractor, successfully executing major and vast Rly. Projects, thus bringing justification to his Engineering Education. He visited Europe and Russia in 1975, and also visited China, Hongkong, Thai, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia etc.

• 1. G.V. Rama Rao is the Secretary of the Krishna Industrial & Agricultural Exhibition Society (Regd.), Vijayawada from 2007 to 2016. Conducting Exhibitions from 1974 (39 yearly Exhibitions and 3 Pushkaram Exhibitions). Exhibition Society services to the Agricultural & Industrial sectors in Coastal Districts. Promoting sports, Cultural Programmes and Business activities to the youth.
• 2. Secretary Indian Red Cross Society, Vijayawada branch won the Andhra Pradesh Governor's Gold medals from 2002 to 2007 (Three Times).
• 3. He was the Executive Committee member of the State Indian Red Cross Society for the years 2004 to 2007. (Appointed by his excellence, Governor of Andhra Pradesh)
• 4. Organised Blood Donation camps in 2002-2007.

  And he also particpated Rotary International Conventions, Bangkok and Seoul (South Korea)
• 6. Received National Award of "Rashtriya Ekta Samman" from Hon'ble Ex.Governor Dr. Bhishma Narayana Singh, President, All India National Unity Conference - New Delhi, for outstanding services, Achievements & Contributions on 17-11-2011 New Delhi.
• 7. Received National award of "Rajiv Gandhi Excellence Award" from Indian Solidarity Council, New Delhi by Dr. N.S.N. Babu, Ph.D, Secretary General and presented by Justice O.P. Varma, Dr. Bhishmanarayana Singh, former Governor of Tamilnadu and Sri G.V.G.Krishna Murthy, Former Election Commisioner of Election Commission of India, for outstanding services, Achievements & Contributions on 06-09-2013 at New Delhi.

He is the founder and Chairman of The Swasakthi Mercantile Co-operative Urban Bank Ltd., Vijayawada from 1998 to till date. Servicing Financially to the poor and working class people.

For the last 16 years completly working in Social Services i.e. Indian Red Cross Society, The Krishna Industrial & Agricultural Exhibition Society, The Swasakthi Mercantile Co-operative Urbank Bank Ltd., and Rotary etc., He helps to so many poor students for education purpose.

Married to Smt. Seshu Kumari, G.V. Rama Rao has a daughter Vimala, who is married to Sri. P.M. Prasad working as Executive Director, NTPC, New Delhi. and they blessed two sons.
